Usage of Xanax

Side Effects of Xanax
Stop taking alprazolam and seek emergency medical help or contact your doctor right away in such cases as: sores in the mouth or throat; a rash; yellowing of the skin or eyes; an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives; closing of your throat); hallucinations or severe confusion; or changes in your vision. Less serious side effects may be often to occur. Continue taking alprazolam and talk to your doctor if you have got vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, or constipation; dry mouth; depression (or changes in behavior); drowsiness, dizziness, or clumsiness; difficulty urinating; vivid dreams; headache; decreased sex drive. Other side effects may also occur. Tell your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is bothersome.
Precautions
Alprazolam is not to be taken if you have narrow-angle glaucoma. The medicine may even worsen this condition. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have such health problems as: kidney disease, liver disease, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, or another respiratory disease, or if you are depressed or have suicidal thoughts. Never take this medication without talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding a baby. If you are over 65 years old, you are more likely to experience side effects of alprazolam. Maybe you require a lower dose of alprazolam. Alprazolam is not approved for use by people under 18 years of age.
Drug Compatibility
Alprazolam is not to be taken with ketoconazole (Nizoral) or itraconazole (Sporanox) without first talking to your doctor. Alprazolam may increase the effects of other medications that cause drowsiness, such as antidepressants, , antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), pain relievers, anxiety medicines, seizure medicines, muscle relaxants and alcohol. Inform your doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, and do not take any drug without first talking to your doctor. The effects of alprazolam may be decresed by antacids. In such cases, separate doses of an antacid and alprazolam by several hours whenever it is possible. Medications other than those listed here may also interact with alprazolam. Talk to your doctor before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines (including herbal products).
Missed Dose Of Xanax
Take the missed dose as soon as it possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and take the next scheduled dose. Never take a double dose of the medication, because it is dangerous for your health.
